A Task at Hand  is a very interesting and exciting story for youngsters.  Set in a north rural village on the tiny Caribbean island, Grenada, the main character, Karl draws the young reader into his world as he goes through an experience that may be very familiar to all.  As Karl would soon discover, having a crush on a teacher is one thing, but having your friends armed with that knowledge can spell trouble, big trouble.  However, due to the upbringing that Karl’s mother ensured that he had, he learned that it was worth it to be truthful and courteous, always, as these are the characteristics that saved him from the hot water that he found himself in.
